My life is all about travelling and I am literally living out of a suitcase these days. Which I really enjoy. After a long gap of two and a half month I was back in Delhi. So, staying in Delhi without exploring new food joints is such a waste. So decided to check out few new cool places recently launched.

Studio Xo Bar  is the one I visited and instantly fell in love. As the name suggests its actually looks like a luxury studio, huge space with stunning interior. The bar area has superb space and I couldn’t resist but get few clicks for myself.

They have a live performance area which is also huge and very attractive. Enough space for everybody, no matter you are in the bar or sitting area or near the live performance area.

Special Winter Menu @Chaayos

Summer are already approaching in Delhi but its never too late to talk about the amazing memories of winter. I always use to crib about the severe winters in Delhi but this time I was travelling so much that I started missing the weather over here. The places I travelled had moderate climates and I use to wonder how the temperature would be in Delhi. I guess its true that when you are away from something you miss it more.

Anyways! To cut my long story short, this winter was extra special coz of this one place which I’m in love with now.  “Chaayos”

They have these extra tempting winter special menu which will leave you coming back for more. My favourite will be the different options you get in Chai (Tea). Not only their menu but the unique interiors and captivating designs will leave you mum.

This place has amazed me with its beauty and luxury. And to top it up, the mouth watering food and best of best cocktails. Best place to chill out with friends over few drinks at the beautiful rooftop. The rooftop terrace have been designed extremely well and thoughtfully which makes it even more appealing. In this beautiful winter evenings of Delhi, one must visit tis place and make the most of this amazing place along with their well crafted drinks and food.

The story behind “Raise The Bar” is that they take you on a Cocktail Journey through different corners of the world and share untold stories of the land. They start from the glorious Gardens of England; the fruity drinks to the America in the 1920’s with its rich and flavourful gin-based cocktails.

The story doesn’t end there. these guys reached the Amazon Rainforest to create drinks that are exotic and infused with the bittersweet flavours of cocoa and bourbon. They also pay a homage to the Great Himalayas, the mystical land of magic and grandeur, resulting in cocktails soaked with zesty tastes.

Delhi: For the well themed Hawaiian Summer Brunch every Sunday, Chef Akshay Malhotra at WelcomHotel Dwarka decided to take things up another level on the 2nd of July. They invited one of their amazing Michelin Mother contestants – Ekta Kapur to prepare a delicious Hawaiian infused spread for the guests. Ekta is a mother, chef and a self-confessed food enthusiast, and cooked behind a live station. Sharing their experiences both Chef Akshay and Michelin Mother Ekta worked on 26 kind of desserts starting right from A to Z to surprise your sweet tooth.

Crowning the unsung hero of our kitchens,s the Potato was transformed into A.L.U. a live counter depicting the “Idaho Potato” grown in our backyard and supplied exclusively to Welcomhotel Dwarka. The Brunch was held at the Pavillion 75, and began at 12:20 pm to go on through the lazy Sunday afternoon till 4 pm. Talking about the event, the General Manager for WelcomHotel, Mr. Rishiraj Singh said “It was amazing to carry forward our collaboration with Ekta after the very successful Michelin Mother contest, and have her get Hawaii to India through her lip smacking dishes for our themed Summer Brunch! As a hotel, we always strive to do something different and quirky for our guests, we look forward to making these Sunday Brunches a tradition”

She learnt about world cuisines on her culinary travels. She loves to explore the world of food with a discerning eye. She recently took on to cook on Mother’s day at ITC Welcome Hotel, Dwarka and on Father’s day at the Crown Plaza, Gurgaon. On both of these fabulous events her cooking and food plating was well appreciated by the judging panel. She was announced as a winner of Michelin Mother’s Day Contest with her Veg Galauti Kebabs. The Prawn Keralite Prawn curry cooked by her was applauded by Sourish Bhattacharya, the famous food writer and blogger.

She is a budding writer who wants to make a positive difference and spread smiles in the world.

BARIS – THE COMPLETE MEDITERRANEAN EXPERIENCE

“BARIS” which means peace in Turkish is another charm added to the GK 3 market. Probably the best by far. I use to visit this market for my ice cream cravings. But now I guess I have a more tempting reason to visit this place.

“Baris” is all about giving you a complete Mediterranean  experience, right from its interior to service, food to music. Its a complete package of food, culture and customs. Lovely meeting the owner of the Place Arjun Toor, who shared his story behind this great place. His love for Mediterranean grew while his stay in that part of the world and feel in love with their cuisine and culture.
Wanted to bring back the same taste and flavour back to his country, he started the project Baris. This place is not just about food, these guys will give you a whole  experience 

BUT OMG!! Im in love with their terrace place. Such a beauty
You won’t regret siting outside while in this weather in Delhi due to their awesome cooling technology. And in winters I’m sure it will be so attractive to sit there and dine.
Once you are inside the place you will be mesmerised by the decor and music. Its like a journey to the East. And finally the food over here speaks everything. This place is a compete package.

On the occasion of Father’s Day this year two great minds ‘Vickrham Vicky’ founder of  “Foodmaniacs” and ‘Aditi’ founder of “Ikreate” collaborates together for an amazing cook off in association with Crown Plaza, Gurgaon. Their small idea turns out to be a successful event and I was one among many bloggers who happens to be a part of it.

‘Crown plaza’ helped set up an amazing individual cooking sections for each participants along with wide variety in the pantry. Everything was available for the cook off along with specific sections for Grill, sauté and deep frying. I was amazed to see the enthusiasm and turn over of good cooks for this event. Everybody was talented and ready to create their unique dishes.

The panel of judges includes MasterChef Season 5 Star “Siddharth Talwar” who along with Executive Chef “Nilesh Dey” who were present to guide the participants as well as kept an sharp eye on the way they were cooking. There main focus was on reducing the waste we normally do while cooking. The lesser the waste, higher the points. Few more important judging criterias were the innovation, technique and most of all the taste of a particular dish. At the beginning 5mnts were given to select their required items from the pantry and later extra 1mnt in the pantry between cook off . Overall 1hrs was given to create their final dish.

I had a ball of a time witnessing the whole event. It was great to see the energy and enthusiasm the participants showed all along. I was surprised to see the each and every idea people had for their dish. Not a single dish was average. Everybody showed unique cooking skills and innovation. The main attraction was to watch two kids “future chefs” participating along with the elders. 

Speaking at the event, Chef Siddharth said,

“The Fathers day special cook off event hosted by Crowne Plaza Today Gurgaon, Media Event Partnered by Vickrham(vicky) of Foodmaniacs and organised by Aditi of Ikreate was one of the best cook off events judged by me. A very meticulously arranged and coordinated event went off very smoothly and without a doubt had the best chosen contestants. Best of ingredients, equipments and contestants will always make a contest a memorable one. Kudos to all”.

Many thanks to “Foodmaniacs” and “Ikreate” for totally believing in this concept as cooking for your loved ones never fails, and hence what better than showing some love to your father by cooking for him on Father’s Day and tried making it more interesting by adding the competition layer to it. Looking forward to see many such events by this amazing duo.
