Raise The Bar Rooftop @Clarens Hotel

This place has amazed me with its beauty and luxury. And to top it up, the mouth watering food and best of best cocktails. Best place to chill out with friends over few drinks at the beautiful rooftop. The rooftop terrace have been designed extremely well and thoughtfully which makes it even more appealing. In this beautiful winter evenings of Delhi, one must visit tis place and make the most of this amazing place along with their well crafted drinks and food.

The story behind “Raise The Bar” is that they take you on a Cocktail Journey through different corners of the world and share untold stories of the land. They start from the glorious Gardens of England; the fruity drinks to the America in the 1920’s with its rich and flavourful gin-based cocktails.

The story doesn’t end there. these guys reached the Amazon Rainforest to create drinks that are exotic and infused with the bittersweet flavours of cocoa and bourbon. They also pay a homage to the Great Himalayas, the mystical land of magic and grandeur, resulting in cocktails soaked with zesty tastes.

The Five State Menu has been a great experience in Jom Jom.

In for some authentic Malaysian food, is the the go to place guys! Been there with two of my close friends and had a ball of a time. Beautiful Malaysian influence interior and decor.

Loved the fact that we had to create our own Sambal. All the ingredients are provided and you have mix them up with the help of a postal and mortar.Coming back to food…. they were serving a special menu from five different states of Malaysia.

Melaka (is a state in Malaysia located in the southern region of the Malay Peninsula)

Johor (Johore is located in the southern portion of Peninsular Malaysia. It is one of the most developed states of Malaysia)

Sarawak – (Located in northwest “Borneo Island”, Sarawak is bordered by the Malaysian state of “Sarah” to the northeast, “Kalimantan”, the Indonesian portion of Borneo, to the south, and the independent country of Brunei in the north.)

Kelantan (Kelantan is a rural state in the northeast of Peninsular Malaysia. Kota Bharu, the riverside capital, is home to royal palaces)

Penang (Penang is a state in northwest Malaysia comprising mainland Seberang Perai and Penang Island.)

# Sambal Udang Dengan Bola Beras – The was from the state of “Melaka”. A Spicy sambal prawns with steamed rice balls.

Mains –

# Laksam Kelantan – As the name suggest the dish is from the state of “Kelantan”. Its a Coconut based white laksa (Laksa is a popular spicy noodle soup) with seafood, fresh herbs & house rice noodles roll with homemade chilli paste.

# Ayam Pansuh – Belongs to the state of “Sarawak” , its a chicken dish cooked in its own juices with bamboo shoot and herbs.

# Otak Otak – Belongs to the state of “Johor” its a Steamed Chilli lime flavoured fish cake wrapped in banana leaf with fried onion served with sticky rice cake.

Yeti – The Himalayan Kitchen

My quest for authentic flavours took me to this place which offers different cuisine from the Himalayas. Himalayan cuisine is diverse and unique as it covers all ends of the Himalayan borders. In the local staple you will find dishes from China, like chow-mein and spring rolls, or of India, with Curries and Samosas. Himalayan food is a unique food culture which is like a drooling mix of Chinese, Nepalese, Indian and Tibetan favourites.

Himalayan food is much more then just yak meat butter tea and here at “Yeti” its a celebration of different cuisine found there.

“Yeti – The Himalayan Kitchen” is another gem in the Haus Khas market commonly known as “HKV”. Although this place is all about night life and pubs and designer outlets. “Yeti” is a breath of fresh air to me. I love to visit this place due to the fact it gives you a homely feeling and comfort. The ambiance both inside and outside is absolutely perfect for its theme. Good himalayan food with beautiful greenery outside of the place. One can relish a good quality meal with a feel of the nature.

It has the authentic flavour and taste of a home cooked dish. Very rustic. To maintain the flavour these guys even source spices from the Himalayas. The have chefs from the same origin. Nevertheless, this place and its flavours speaks of its own.

This place has become my second home if ever I wanna come over for some comfort food and a relaxed time.Visited the place with some friends and totally fell in love with it. By the time I’m writing this review I have visited the place twice.
And I’m sure I’m coming back for more.

Few of my favourites are –

## Piro Aloo – Darjeeling style cumin, garlic, turmeric spicy potatoes.

## Macha Tareko – My favourite. Fish marinated in spices and batter, fired in mustard oil

## Mushroom with Black Bean Sauce.

## Chicken Dry Fry –  Chicken pieces fried with peanut and pepper.

## Sha Datchi – A Bhutanese meal. Cheese curry. Can be veg or non veg.

## Crispy Pork and Honey.

## Doh Nai – Pork Cooked in black sesame gravy, a delicacy of the Khasi- Jainitias of Meghalayas.

Well!! This review might be a little long review as visiting this place was not just a casual late lunch but a whole new experience. For some moment I felt I was in some Italian restaurant in Italy itself. This place evoked my urge to make a travel plan.
These guys are super serious about their food and doesn’t deviate from the originality.
Right from fresh basil grown in the kitchen, to importing ingredients direct from Italy makes the whole dining experience a gala affair. They have even taken care of the cutleries and plates which gel perfectly with the food served.

One can get a wide variety of good quality Italian Wine and also Indian Wine. They have their own bottles of spring water right from the Himalayas.

The Pasta Bowl Company is an authentic Italian restaurant aiming to give you the best possible Italian Cuisine experience.
Got the opportunity to sit with “Chef Om” who happens to be the Founder as well, shared amazing stories behind behind creating this place and also knowledge about the Italian food. Learned to pronounce few Italian words correctly. 😉

I had the privilege to taste their new menu –
“Cucina Con Amore” (Cooked with Love) – A 3 course special menu for late lunchers @999 + tax
The menu is focused on corporates and late launchers.

Ambiance of this place speaks a lot. Simple sitting arrangement, homely decor, lots of natural light coming in, antique wall clock and the music.

Few of the items I’m in love with –

Caliente has launched in India and guess what! I got my hands on to try out two of their flavours. To my surprise I quite liked it. Its a Chilli infused drink with organic fruit concentrate. Its a Swedish award winning company which is now available in India.

Caliente has been awarded with –

*** “The World’s Best New Adult Drink Concept” – World Beverage Innovation awards 2015

“Caliente” is a new away winning drink that has been spiked with chilli. Chilli adds character and great taste, without need to add a lots of sugar and it kick starts our endorphins. Its organic and made in Sweden from pure ingredients.

The same stuff that makes chillis hot “Capsaicin” also floods your brain with endorphins, for a natural high. Caliente has come up with unique way of spiking chilli heat, making it one of its kind. For best results… enjoy Caliente slowly and ice cold on its own or pair up with food for an experience beyond comparison.

# Caliente Ginger Lime Chili –

I quite liked it even though it has a strong flavour of chilli and also the infusion of ginger kicks the spice note too.

Ingredients –

Water | 15% Organic fruit juice from concentrated grape, lime | Organic raw sugar | Natural aromas | Sea salt

# Caliente Blueberry Lemongrass Chili –

This would be my favourite so far because I feel its has the perfect bend of chilli and berries. The ratio is quite enjoyable of those who are not into too much spicy drinks.

Ingredients –

Water | 18% organic fruit juice from concentrate apple, blueberry, black carrot, lemon | Organic raw sugar | Natural aromas | Sea salt

Crafted in Sweden from organic ingredients, it’s the ultimate choice for people who are after a complex non-alcoholic drink that’s low on sugar. All are bottled in Småland, Sweden, of 100% natural and certified organic ingredients.
