Delhi Times Fashion Week Culminates on a High Note

New Delhi: The Delhi Times Fashion Week, an initiative of the Times Group culminated on highly glamorous note at Roseate House, Aerocity. The 3-day long event witnessed the presence of the crème de la crème of the lifestyle and fashion world, which was greatly appreciated by everyone. The fashion extravanza saw some of the country’s biggest designers like Ritu Beri, Suneet Verma, MaliniRamani, Joy Mitra, Narendra Kumar, Sulakshana Monga, Suneet Verma, Mehraab, Bharat Reshma, Poonam Bhagat, Nida Mahmood etc.

The majestic Delhi Times Fashion Week opened with Ritu Beri’s Khadi Couture show with Ms. Meenakshi Lekhi, Ms. Najma Heptullah, Ms. Bharti Singh & Mr. Lorenzo Angeloni walking the ramp for her. Yami Gautam and Sonal Chauhan took the style quotient a notch higher as they walked the ramp for Sulakshana Monga and Narendra Kumar respectively.

The fashion week got glitzier and snazzier with fabulous collections presented on day 2. Randeep Hooda slayed the ramp as he walked for designer Bharat Reshma. Chitrangda Singh added the oomph factor as she set the ramp ablaze for eminent designer Joy Mitra. Sonal Chauhan closed the show for Narendra Kumar. The show was choreographed by Aparna-Anisha Bahl, Rashmi Virmani and Pranav Hamal.

The magic of the affluence fashion week enticed people as celebrities like singer Jassi, Priya Rana (editor Splurge), H E Hector and Toya (ambassador, Ecuador), designer Nayanika, Nandita Basu attended the show. The Delhi Times Fashion Week came to an end with the closing show by Suneet Verma. Malavika Mohanan captivated the audience as she walked for Suneet Verma.

The sponsors of the event who proactively came forward to up the fashion industry included Lakme Salon, Jabong, Orient Fans, Wild Vitamin Water, London Dairy, Brookside etc.

Delhi Times has consistently given impetus to the lifestyle scene in the city through their constant efforts. The event was highly successful and over 2000 people graced the event with their presence. The fashion week was the talk of the town on social media as well. How does Script remove the issue of shrunken urban spaces this issue while maintaining the aesthetics of the space?

Script products are designed in a way that they consume less space by using them is a multi functional way, while elevating the aesthetic quotient of the surrounding. For example our sofa named Let Harbor site literally is your anchor, as its comfortable seating remains comfortable no matter how long you spend time on it. With a headrest on either side, it not only permits but also encourages you to lie sideways, with your legs draped over the armrests.

The Sinewy Dining Table extends from a four seater to a six seater, ensuring you always have room for more-more dinner guests, more projects and more time together!

There is a bed that makes work from home a joyful experience without getting out of bed as Lagoon’s many features (from a large storage bench to a laptop tray to the tiny clothes peg) ensure everything you need is at arm’s length.

-> The store is designed such that is reveals just enough to generate the intrigue        without revealing everything about the store.

-> Also the elements used through out the store are so unique that there’s always the need to know more about the same – be it the materials used or design itself. 

The Brass story:

-> Godrej has a rich heritage in the brass, right from the early days of the locks and continuing with this tradition brass has been used subtly through the store.

-> The Terrazzo floors in the store are made by pouring concrete mixed with the brass dust and caps  which was but the dust from the locks division.

-> The brass story continues in the little brass strips used in the racking fixtures or the grommets in the ground.

Empower and Enrich:

-> The store is very intuitive to go through and helps spend a lot of time discovering the products very simply.

-> Right from the wide ramp that can be stretched for the people who have difficulty in using the staircase to the displays in the store using simple fixtures that are able to both house various categories and create visual partitions through the store the design thinking makes the store journey both easy yet keeps consumer engaged as the products reveal themselves around the corner.

*It has very nice customisable fixture system, which is very versatile to accommodate any type of category to be display.

The Brand Immersion area:

-> The ground floor of the store is dedicated to explaining the brand philosophy.

-> The exhibit has the prototypes of the furniture with their back stories.

-> It is a interactive area which talks about the DNA of the brand, the design thinking that goes behind the brand, showcasing how the designers think, materials designers use. It’s the introduction to the world of script.

Goa welcomed Mumbai’s popular interiors design store- Vaishnavipratima on 14 September 2018. Located in the heart of North Goa; a ninety year old Portuguese influenced four thousand sq.ft. spacious Goan villa is now home to the gorgeous studio. Specializing in Indianized artifacts, furniture, interior design and for the first time- fashion by Prama and Bhavaa  jewellery; the studio is named after its founder- Vaishnavipratima (popular interior designer and artist). It first opened in Mumbai in June 2016 and has ever since been known for its exclusive customized furniture and design for Indian homes.

The collection and style of the second Vaishnavipratima- Signature Collection is more suited to Goan houses and its people as it simultaneously retains its design sensibility of celebrating Indian art. Unlike its Mumbai flagship; outdoor furniture, designer beds, dining tables, premium designer wear by Prama (chanderi sarees and Indo-western outfits by Pratima Pandey) and Bhavaa jewellery  comprising of semiprecious gemstone collections are notable additions to the Goan store. Both Prama and Bhavaa share similar aesthetics and ethos with those of Vaishnavipratima of Indian designs and art. The store also boasts of an entirely new furniture and furnishings line (distinct from its Mumbai store) each specifically designed to suit large open Goan houses and its local hospitality industry.

Gorgeous bougainvilleas adorn the large wooden doors, windows and roof of this heritage villa. The store overlooks a lush green patch complete with palms and its newest outdoor furniture range alongside a water body of rare violet lotuses. The entrance is warm and welcoming as the furniture at first sight reveals the brand’s journey over the last couple of years.

The first room of the villa consists of beautifully handcrafted furniture pieces that are strikingly fused into two diverse color tones: subtle pastels and chunky bright pop colors. These include mirrors, chests of drawers, consoles, book shelves, bar units, wing chairs etc that are all made by Indian artisans. Pop art dining couture and various artists’ works are on display in the second room. The third room is the siesta corner- comprising of an elaborate four poster bed with cushions, throws and rugs passionately developed in the current and possible next year’s Pantone color tones. One can see Shibori and block-printing art in various palettes here. The intimate open café area is in the passage and back foyer of the villa and will soon serve exotic teas and bites. Vaishnavipratima Goa will be introducing exquisite lightings and conducting art workshops as well.

Vaishnavipratima says, “Within a few months of opening my flagship store in Mumbai in June 2016 I had a secret wish of opening my second store soon. Seeing its success, expansion was only natural and nothing better than a heritage Goan villa! Moreover, post intensive market research and the current lifestyle changes, Goa seemed like the ideal place for my designs. It is after all known as a ‘Tourist’s Paradise!”

About the founder:

Vaishnavipratima is a self-taught designer, mother, an entrepreneur, traveler and an artist. She is a self- made  interior aesthetic consultant.  After years of personal experience in designing and re-designing her own home and helping out friends and family with their homes, in 2012 Vaishnavipratima decided to start out by helping others give their homes a makeover. It was in 2015 that she started designing furniture and by the following year she had set up her self titled interior studio in Lower Parel. Today the studio has exclusive, customized furniture made for Indian homes and offers consulting services for interior designing and home makeovers. Drawing inspiration from her travels and her unique sense of style and aesthetics, Vaishnavipratima has created this studio-cum-store to be a reflection of herself – full of creativity and warmth.

This organisation has doing their best to provide basic necessities for the older women left alone on the streets. This pop show is an awesome example of they efforts. The company aims to roll out a slew of marketing and promotional initiatives for next couples of years. In the next phase, similar experiential stores will be opened up in Bengaluru followed by Mumbai/Pune and Hyderabad.
